The X Factor Winner Leona Lewis Punched At Book Signing

Every time a celebrity leaves the security of their own house they are risking being mobbed by fans, some of whom can be a little over the top. And punching a celebrity is my idea of going way over the top. Maybe Leona Lewis should stay at home from now on.

Leona Lewis

According to BBC News, Leona Lewis, who won The X Factor in 2006, was signing copies of her new autobiography, Dreams, at the Waterstones book store in Piccadilly when she was allegedly assaulted.

A Waterstones spokesman said:

“There was an incident at our Leona Lewis signing this afternoon and the event was immediately stopped. We are now doing everything we can to support the police in their enquiries.”

The book signing session had reportedly been taking place for around 90 minutes when Lewis’ attacker allegedly punched her in the side of the head. But not before he had got his copy of her book signed. So I’m guessing he’s a fan… just a very strange one whose idea of fandom is very different from the rest of us.

Lewis was forced to pull out of appearing on The One Show because of the incident. The autobiography is due out next month alongside her second album, Echo.
