"The Ruins" Preview, Trailer and Stills

“The Ruins” hits theaters April 4, 2008 (next Friday!), and it looks awesomely scary. Based on the Scott Smith novel, it centers on a group of friends whose leisurely Mexican holiday takes a tragic turn when they accompany a fellow tourist on a remote archaeological dig in the jungle. <insert creepy music here> Of course, something evil lurks among the ruins.

Directed by Carter Smith and written by Scott Smith, The Ruins stars Jonathan Tucker, Laura Ramsey, Jena Malone, Shawn Ashmore, and Joe Anderson. It’s rated R for strong violence and gruesome images, language, some sexuality and nudity. Sure, it’s from Dreamworks Pictures, but you didn’t really expect talking pigs, did you?
