The Informant! Trailer – All kinds of goofiness with Matt Damon, George Clooney and Steven Soderbergh

You don’t usually see Matt Damon being goofy in the sorts of crime/conspiracy movies he does. Think “The Bourne Trilogy.” Awesome movies, but not exactly a laugh a minute. But when you’ve got him as an actor, George Clooney as the executive producer, and Steven Soderbergh as the director, anything can happen.

That’s the lineup for “The Informant!,” coming to theaters Sept. 18, 2009. It looks darn funny, and I think we can all use a laugh about now.

It’s a true story based on the book by Kurt Eichenwald, about an agri-business corporation accused of price fixing. The star witness is vice president turned informant Mark Whitacre (Damon), with Scott Bakula and Patton Oswalt also on board. It’s rated R for language. Check out the trailer and see what you think:
