I don’t think it’s fair to punish us because of a dispute between the strikers and the strikees!
They should have let this slide, it won’t make any difference in the long run. They will eventually get what they ask for.

Lola, you’re right – the whole thing is kind of petty when viewed from a global perspective. Strikes always are, and they always hurt more than just the people who deserve the message. The AMPTP really needs to just swallow their pride and update their contracts with writers, directors, and actors to better reflect today’s technology. There’s no need for it to drag on this long, but at the same time, I don’t want the writers to step down now.

I support the writers, sure, but I really think that there are more serious problems in the world- oh, say, genocide, starvation, and mass murder in Africa, to name a few. I don’t think this strike merits all of the attention it’s getting, and I don’t think it’s worth the problems it’s causing. It’s all about money, no matter which side you’re on, and it will hurt both sides in the end. It’s petty of both parties to continue the conflict like stubborn school-children and I’m very angry that a huge part of American culture- the only part, really, that is superior to its European counterparts- is being halted, just because of monetary complaints.

You are always right on top of the news. Thanks for keeping us updated. I am glad they are cancelling the award show. Hopefully the powers that be will get together and settle this strike. (I too am for the writers!!) There will be alot of money lost with this cancellation. surely that will put some pressure somewhere and they will sit up and take notice
