Fabulous recurring guest star Mary McDonnell (pictured below at left) returns to reprise her role as tough Captain Sharon Raydor on The Closer’s December 21 Season Five finale called “Dead Man’s Hand.”
And as hard as it is to believe, when Raydor shows up, she’s going to need a big favor from her nemesis Brenda’s team.
Raydor requests their help investigating possible spousal abuse involving a female officer on her own team. The catch is that Raydor wants Brenda & Company to proceed quietly, a difficult thing to do when one cop investigates another one, especially in the same department.
That’s not the only complication for Brenda, however. She also has to deal with her husband Fritz, who’s not pleased these days about what he perceives as her ignoring him. If trouble on the home front isn’t a worthy season-ending cliffhanger, I don’t know what is. Let’s hope they work it out, though.
Preview the fifth-season finale in the following sneak peek, which includes numerous scenes from the episode, ending with a really tense segment between Brenda and Fritz.
