Whenever I hear a story concerning Take That and Robbie Williams, I immediately rush to the conclusion that they’ve decided to get back together as one again. It never happens of course, Robbie has his own career, and Take That are doing better as a new, older, and much wiser foursome without him. But that doesn’t stop me living in hope.

The four members of Take That, Gary Barlow, Mark Owen, Jason Orange, and Howard ‘Chewbacca’ Donald are now all on speaking terms with Robbie. They’ve all been best of friends since they all met up in LA last August.
This meeting lead to speculation that Williams was about to rejoin the rejuvenated Take That. Even his mum thought he might be tempted back to Gary and the boys, but nothing came of the rumours in the end.
But they have at least stayed in touch with each other, and The Mirror reports how Robbie and Take That met recently in LA while the latter were putting the finishing touches to their new album.
Jason Orange commented:
“Rob’s looking really well at the moment. We went out for dinner and he was telling us he’s been chilling out and writing a lot, but nothing with us.”
“I don’t know if it’s all about UFOs but he’ll be bringing something out soon.”
Take That also will have been asking Robbie how life is in the US as they have plans to conquer America with their next album. Williams may not have had much luck in the US, apart from with the women, but Take That are willing to give it a go.
Orange continued:
“Actually, there are a couple of songs on the album which I could definitely hear being played on the radio in America. We’re thinking of sending a few tracks out there to see how it goes down.”
“America hasn’t been a massive priority for us – we’ve got our album out here to promote and another big European tour next year – but it’d be good to see what the response is like.”
I actually think Take That should give it a go. Some American friends of mine absolutely love Rule The World after hearing it over the end credits of Stardust. If Take That can produce more songs of that calibre for the new album then the US could quite easily take to them in a big way.
Let’s face it, they’re a lot better than New Kids On The Block.
