With Ghost Hunter’s lead investigators Steve Gonsalves and Dave Tango as teachers in Syfy’s new show Ghost Hunters Academy, anything is possible. The show is a spin-off of the very popular Ghost Hunters series which will feature a group of students learning how to hunt for paranormal activity everywhere. If students can pass the class, they have the potential to become investigators on Ghost Hunters or Ghost Hunters International. The series will premiere Wednesday, November 11 at 10 PM ET.
Ghost Hunters is currently airing its fifth season and has averaged 2.94 million total viewers and 1.8 million viewers in the ‘Adults 18-49′ demographic during its broadcast run. Ghost Hunters International was the shows first spin-off and premiered last year–following investigators in haunted locations all over Europe.
Has the allure of Ghost Hunters stopped haunting you or can this series evoke a new interest in the show?
I do enjoy GH but then i saw the dodgy footage from the 08 Live Halloween special and how obviously rigged it was (Grant doing his best impression of a silent movie actor every time he tugged string in his pocket to pull on the neck of his coat)…killed it for me quite a bit.
I still enjoy the show and it has bags more credibility than Most Haunted but it’d be nice if there was a proper ‘paranormal investigation’ show, where people wore cameras (or at least carried them) so we could see what they allegedly see. We place a lot of faith in their ‘personal experiences’.

Academy show was good more like first couple seasons of original GH. They are more focused on research, equipment setup, evidence review. The girl who claims to be psychic I am not too sure about it kinda seems like BS.
GH & GHI have gotten to commercialized shock factor less honest evidence capture, research, debunk or trying to help people. Halloween live show was a joke I’ve stopped watching GH GHI since then.

yeah, that Halloween special did the same to me. there has been a lot of progress in the field in terms of equipment. personal experience isn’t concrete but it drives people to learn and invent more. perhaps there exists something ‘real’ in that framework.
