Supernatural Writer Goes Sci Fi at Showtime

sho_logo Former Jericho consulting producer John McNamara and Supernatural writer/producer Sera Gamble will bring a new sci-fi show to the Showtime cable network.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, the pair will bring BBC developed-project Syns to the states. In this show humanlike synthetic organisms are used for a variety of purposes. If that sounds not unlike a Joss Whedon venture we’ve been writing a lot about, it gets better. The original name of the Showtime project was Dolls’ Hospital.

While the name has been changed, the plot still bears more than a bit of similarity to Dollhouse, as if that show needed another strike against it. Confusion likely won’t be good for either show. Don’t worry readers, SFUniverse will help you keep things straight.
