The End

Sam (Jared Padalecki) tells Dean (Jensen Ackles) he wants to rejoin Dean in the battle of the Apocalypse, but Dean tells Sam that they are better off apart.  Later, Dean awakens five years in the future in an abandoned city and is attacked by humans who have been infected with a demonic virus that turns humans into Zombies.  Zachariah (guest star Kurt Fuller) appears to Dean and explains that this is the world that exists as a result of Dean saying no to helping the angels fight Lucifer.  Dean meets up with Future Dean, who tells him that the virus is the Devil’s endgame for destroying mankind.

It says something when I looked at these promos and was so distracted by Dean w/ a gun strapped to his leg that I didn’t notice one of my favorite actresses in the picture. Lexa Doig is AWESOME! And I hope Dean runs into her character again. :D

LOVE how the movie theater sign in advertising Route 666.

    Eagerly awaiting tonight’s episode!

That was a little much Seriously? As I’ve said I am a Dean girl but I love Sam too. I always have and always will. I do not mean any of my comments to be belittling or insulting. I also really feel that if I thought Sam was being mistreated/mishandled by the writers in anyway I would have something to say.

The only I’ve been trying to understand is why people are upset about his screentime. I could see it being an issue if for the last 3 years or couple of years all we see is Sam for like the first five minutes of the show and then never again for the rest of the episode, every episode or at least on a consistent basis. After all he is a lead. Like I said I love Sammy so if that was happening it would be not cool.

I don’t know what else to say. Except that fans shouldn’t feel like what Jen described in the beginning of her post. Maybe instead of being fighting, attacking fans we should try to understand where our fellow fans are coming from and then if we don’t agree or can’t work through it: Agree to disagree.

Love the picture of Dean running.

@ Seriously? – First of all, nice work on judging your fellow fans. I’m not entirely sure what qualifies you to do that. Secondly, what you said is a sweeping generalization, and one of the reasons that many Samfans feel so persecuted. If you don’t worship Dean, you’re not entitled to an opinion in this fandom. You will get shouted down, belittled, and out and out insulted, for daring to have an opinion other than “Dean is the most awesome person ever!”. It’s not an overidentification with Sam. It’s based on the way people are treated. I’ve seen plenty of people who make a post about something show related and follow it up with a snide remark about the raving and annoying Samfans that will surely show up now, BEFORE ANYONE EVEN SAYS A WORD. Prejudice is not acceptable in the 21st century, but that’s what this is.

What you said about the actors schedules is true, and would be a valid argument IF it was happening in both directions. Since it isn’t, that can’t be held up as an acceptable reason for the situation.

And finally, most of the bashing I’ve seen here that is directed at the actor, not the character, is aimed at Jared, not Jensen. Like I said in my earlier post, if they happened upon this comment section, I don’t think it’s Jared who would be ashamed of his fans. At the very least, it wouldn’t be JUST Jared, that much I’m pretty sure of.

Flicking back through the comments here seems to illustrate (to me) that much of the problem with some of the “Sam fans” over the past season or two is that their persecution complex is more about themselves then it is about Sam.

They don’t really seem to be fans of the character of Sam Winchester as he appears on Supernatural nor of the Sam Winchester that is portrayed with considerable aplomb by Jared Padelecki. They are not fans of a character on a long and arduous journey, who has made mistakes (as just about all the characters on this show have) and who is facing up to them, who still struggles but never denies his own culpability (once he realises it). They are not fans of a character who has grown into a MAN, a fully-fledged adult who takes responsibility for his actions and choices and doesn’t try to shift the blame elsewhere.

They appear to be fans of another Sam Winchester who is a perpetual victim, who never did anything wrong (because nothing that ever happened to him others around him was his fault and none of his choices were actually made by him) and who has been eternally persecuted by his father, his brother, demons, angels and Eric Kripke. This version of Sam Winchester (whom I never really saw, not even in season 1) is permanently enshrined in their heads as THE Sam Winchester and therefore cannot grow or develop at all. He must remain forever like this. Static.

Then they turnaround and complain that Sam gets no character growth and not enough of a story arc.

In all honesty, it’s as if they feel that the “SAM FANS” are getting persecuted and ignored rather than the character himself (the real character that has appeared on the show for over 4 seasons, not the other innocent victim they’ve enshrined in their heads). The fact that some of them (like Alex above) apparently misquote the shows actors and producers to build up the story of their perceived persecution. I am truly agog that (as Erica said) they can take things that compliments to Jared Padalecki and turn them into untruths that are actually insulting to him and his acting skills.

These so called “Sam fans” give true fans of the character Sam Winchester and the actor Jared Padalecki a bad name. They make the group known as “Sam fans” look like irrational and deceitful hate-mongers.

Now, I know that Supernatural fans, in general, have a rep for being a bit nutty (yes, understatement). And I know that there are some equally one-eyed dean fans (and even Castiel fans) out there. But seriously people, take a step back and look at yourselves. Think about what you are saying.

A couple of quotes from the boys stick in my mind (can’t remember the source, but it’s probably the official Supernatural magazine).

    1) The actors work a gruelling schedule and enjoy the occassional ep being lite on their characters so they can get a bit of downtime.

    2) Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles are close friends. They’ve had people come to them and try to tell them things that they expect the other guy to hear – and those people are told that these guys don’t keep secrets from each other. They are friends who support each other. So tearing one down to build the other up seems pretty stupid, right?

This is sad. Really sad. I am sorry this continues on. I highly doubt anyone from Supernatural would be impressed with the behavior of the fans. As for the group that was whining about Dean not having a storyline some years ago I wasn’t there for that. In all seriousness for the first couple of seasons Dean’s storyline really was wrapped up in Sam’s storyline. Which is fine it’s the way it works. Honestly, I think the screentime complaints are crap. Mostly, because the show’s not about how much time Dean or Sam gets on screen. Also, I used to watch a show with a bigger series regular cast and they got less screentime than Dean or Sam. It’s been nice for me to watch a show that has two stars of the show.

I understand people have opinions I just think being upset because there’s a second episode out of now 5 seasons that has ten minutes of Sam is kind of silly. But I can sit here and tell you this stuff all day and you guys are still going to come up with something that proves that you’re right or something to that effect. I do apologize if any previous posts I made seemed like attacks. That was not what I was intending but it may have come off like that since I got frustrated with the screentime complaints.

I love the picture of Dean staring out the window.

To everyone baaawing about Cas/Dean one: its silly since everyone knows Sams main role as well as Deans. And two Misha minions will get you for going for Cas.

  10. By Jen

@ Ty – Somehow I don’t think it’s Jared who would be ashamed of his, or his character’s, fans if the guys stumbled across this particular comment section. There’s voicing a valid complaint or opinion, and then there’s needlessly attacking your fellow fans.

  11. By emonyjade

woah, does Cas have- Facial Hair?! thaaaaats weird.

  12. By Sarah

    @Word!
I’m guessing you think I’m a Dean!Girl then? Nope, try again mister. I’m Switzerland.
I generally find that Sam!Girls are the ones that whine and complain the most. But then again, maybe I’m looking in the wrong place.
So to clarify, as long as there are episodes, there will always be a group of people complaining ;D

  13. By Jenna24

Whaaaaa…yes. There is a reaper. Cool stuff. Thanks again for those cool pictures.

  14. By Jenna24

Girls or woman are just crazy. Instead of enjoying the show there is bitching all around the place. It makes me sad but I can´t say I didn´t saw that coming. SamGirls vs. DeanGirls????? Just crazy. What I see is just selfishness. Your guy is not around as much as the other???? Cancel the show…put Kripke ant the writers in the pillory. Think about it..must be fun to watch a show like that. Crazy, just crazy.

  15. By tavore

Nope , Dean still have his ring , he have no more his amulet , his Impala is screwed and his beloved brother is not evil , it’s enough

Yes I wonder , too , what Jared thinks of some of Sam’s girls behavior (because some are cool) and every time once in a while when Sam is not a lot in an episode they go in every blog or forums or sites for say the show sucks and that Sam’s character is ruined , that Cas have to leave etc

Notice that they still watch the show ;)

  16. By Phoenix Mendes

Man, this episode is gonna be awesome. I’m really anxious to see it!

  17. By Ty

It is really appalling how certain sam fans insist on taking the words of people who give to their fans with such generosity and goodwill and twist them in the most ugly and divisive ways.

Anyone who knows and understands this show and actually does watch for both brothers and for the stories, will see through these pathetic attempts at twisting the fact just to promote your guy. I really wonder how much JP appreciates these shenanigans on his behalf.

    Thanks for that, Erica.

I find the way some fans have reacted in this thread truly embarrassing. And I hope no one associated with the show ever sees this, especially Jared and Jensen. For the record, I think this episode looks amazing. Sam’s part may be small, but I have no doubt that it will be of great importance. Can’t wait!

  18. By Pipa

Thank you for the pics, they look great. It is going to be an amazing, bizarre episode.I especially like the reaper under the CROATAN word and the menacing little girl.

  19. By Max

Oh, I can’t wait. This episode looks awesome!
Is future Dean missing his ring?
