Spike Lee to Direct Time Traveler

Spike Lee-nc Variety is reporting that Spike Lee will direct Time Traveler, a movie based on the memoir of theoretical physicist Ronald Mallett. Mallett became one of the first African-Americans to earn a Ph.D in theoretical physics, inspired by his childhood dream of building a time machine.

Mallett’s father died when Mallett was only 10 year old. In his book Time Traveler: A Scientist’s Personal Mission to Make Time Travel a Reality, Mallet said  he wanted to go back in time and save his father, which inspired an obsession with time travel. The book lays out Mallet’s technical specs for a working time machine.

Well, this sounds like a fascinating story and I have to read it so I’m ready for the movie. Lee has acquired the rights and will finance it through his Forty Acres and a Mule Filmworks.
