Soderbergh’s "Che" Picked up by IFC Films

soderbergh1 For a while there, it looked like Steven Soderbergh‘s “Che” would be picked up by Magnolia. Now IFC Films has swept in and acquired the rights to the pic.

Basically, the movie will be released in two two-hour parts, so the big question for the distributor is whether to release the films together or separately.

More after the jump…

Doesn’t it seem like it’d be better to release them together? I mean, just from a viewer standpoint, I’d want to see the whole thing as a seamless film, not in two parts over a period of time.

The film (which also goes by the title Guerrilla) focuses on Che Guevara‘s twin revolutions in Bolivia and Cuba. It premiered at the Festival de Cannes in May to mixed response.
