I’ll have a full review for you next week, but Season 5 on Blu-ray arrived at my door yesterday, so I’ve spent much of the last 24 hours poring over it. And being the Lost geek that I am, it should come as no surprise that the Season 5 set is one that I’m already in love with.
For those of us that have already spent repeat-viewings with every episode from the season (don’t judge me, it’s part of my job), the real meat and potatoes of a set like this is the extra content. And while I wouldn’t mind hours upon hours more extra features than what’s included with the Season 5 set, what’s there is well worth your time.
I think my favorite special feature is “Lost on Location,” where we get lots of behind-the-scenes looks at the show’s production — though that may change once Lost University gets up and running. (Right now, there’s nothing but a placeholder screen that says LostU launches December 8th.)
More in-depth thoughts are coming next week. In the meantime, get your DVD and Blu-ray players warmed up, because the Season 5 set is definitely a keeper! And I really recommend the Blu-ray version if you’re able to run it — all of the extra features are in high-def just like the episodes.

I am so jealous. I have to wait until Tuesday to get my blu-ray. I re-bought all 4 seasons this summer so I had all Blu-Ray and even for people who don’t obssess over Lost like I do it still makes an impression.

No, ABC doesn’t consider me important enough to deserve a Dharma Kit. They seem to have reserved those for the big league players like Doc Jensen.
