Sitcom Stars Storm Theaters July 10 in ‘Weather Girl’

Weather Girl: Partly Cloudy with a 90% Chance of Total Meltdown

Love that tag line!

The new indie comedy movie Weather Girl doesn’t hit theaters in the United States until July 10, but it has already generated excellent word of mouth and racked up a few notable honors at several film festivals, including Best Narrative Feature at the deadCENTER Film Festival, Honorary Mention for the Audience Award at the Nashville Film Festival, and Best Narrative Feature at the Vail Film Festival.

Written and directed by Blayne Weaver (Outside Sales, Losing Lois Lane), the flick stars The New Adventures of Old Christine‘s Tricia O’Kelley as poor Sylvia Miller, a 35-year-old Seattle morning-show weather girl who wigs out on television when she discovers that her no-good boyfriend Dale Waters (Mark Harmon, NCIS) has been getting it on with her co-host Sherry Warren (Kaitlin Olson, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia).

Follow the jump for more details and the official trailer.

Of course, the unseemly incident immediately leads to a pink slip, which forces Sylvia into reluctant cohabitation with her younger brother Walt (Ryan Devlin, Big Shots) and his best friend Byron (Patrick J. Adams, Friday Night Lights). So, the former independent single career woman not only has to cope with her undesirable living arrangement, but also her unwanted reputation as the weather girl who freaked out on live television. That’s not an easy thing to live down, you know.

Besides the previously mentioned cast members, Weather Girl also features a slew of additional familiar sitcom stars, such as Enrico Colantoni (Just Shoot Me!), Jon Cryer (Two and a Half Men), Alex Kapp Horner (The New Adventures of Old Christine), Marin Hinkle (Two and a Half Men), and Jane Lynch (Party Down), as well as Dirty Sexy Money‘s Blair Underwood. If you’re a fan of comedy TV, you can’t do much better than that on the big screen.
