A photographer and his new wife find that living in Tokyo is quite more than what they expected in the new horror movie out today, Shutter.
Shutter stars horror hottie Joshua Jackson (Dawson’s Creek, Cursed, Urban Legends) and Rachel Taylor (Transformers), and is directed by Masayuki Chiba (Infection, Hypnosis), and directed by Taka Ishise (The Grudge). The movie also stars David Denman (The Office), and John Hensley (Nip/Tuck).
Shutter’s key element is the compelling subject of spirit photography -images of the dead caught on film. According to the synopsis of this film, one third of people (in CNN poll) believe in ghosts, and because of that, interest in spirit photography has risen dramatically. The angle used to market this film reminds me of the movie, White Noise and its EVP (electronic voice phenomenon) references in 2005.
I worked for a photographer years ago, and remember seeing a few interesting things in photos that were developed. We never talked about them, and just decided in our minds that they were anomalies from the production process. Could they have been ghosts? Let me ask you, have you seen anything strange in your photography?
