United States of Tara cast panel at the TCA winter press tour in January
Showtime’s loving the many sides of Toni Collette — and the ratings the actress’ new series is bringing in. Four episodes into its first season, the network announced it would renew United States of Tara for a second season.
In today’s announcement, Showtime President of Entertainment Robert Greenblatt said “we’re thrilled that critics and audiences have responded to this groundbreaking show so well.”
The series, written by Diablo Cody and based on an idea from Steven Spielberg, features Collette as a suburban Kansas City mom and artist who has dissociative identity disorder. In its premiere week, Showtime said, United States of Tara reached 2.67 million subscribers, outperforming the network’s other hits such as Weeds, Californication, Dexter and The Tudors in their premiere weeks.

Season 2 of the Showtime series is set to premiere March 22, 2010. Plenty of time to get caught up with season 1.

I cannot wait for season 2 of this amazing show! Toni Collette does an incredible job of showcasing her talent and no-one plays could do a better job of a supportive husband than John Corbett. Hurry up season 2!!

When is United States of Tara coming back on for the 2 season? I realy enjoyed the show and it gave my family and i something to watch together. PLEASE BRING HER SHOW BACK!!!!!!!!!
