With the writers’ strike dragging on, the networks may end up recycling some cable fare from their corporate cousins.
Showtime’s no exception, with CBS eying a few of our fave series. According to the Hollywood Reporter, “CBS Corp. president and CEO Leslie Moonves said at an investor conference Tuesday in New York that CBS is planning to repurpose some Showtime programs.”
“Dexter is probably the first one to go on — with some edits,” Moonves told reporters, because it fits with the net’s crime shows, including CSI.
The story goes on to say that CBS might consider running Weeds and The Tudors as well, but it notes that “both will need heavy editing to make it to broadcast primetime.”
Yeah — just a guess: The partial nudity, near-constant profanity and casual drug use might not be so popular with the folks in Standards and Practices.
