Showtime admits Season 3 was Brotherhood's last

Kevin Chapman as Freddi Cork, Brian O'Byrne as Colin Carr, Billy Smith as Kevin 'Moe' Reilly, Jason Isaacs as Michael Caffee and Brian Scannell as Silent John Brotherhood Season 3

Sad news, friends. Though we long suspected it, the official word is now in: Brotherhood’s third season was its last on Showtime.

The brutal and gritty tale of the Caffee family’s adventures in Providence seemed to wrap up with Season 3, but the network today told E!’s Kristin Dos Santos that there will be no Season 4.

In September, Brotherhood star Ethan Embry hinted that the show was headed for cancellation.

“I’m kind of getting the feeling that they might end it this year and wrap up loose ends,” he said, “but if everyone starts realizing what a great show it is and starts watching, they’d probably squeeze a couple more out.”

Sadly, that’s not the case. But the DVD of Season 3 is expected to drop on Sept. 22.

I heard about Brotherhood recently and Netflix’ed it. My wife and I agree that it was the best show we have seen in a very long time, dropping it is a huge mistake !!! Bring it back !!!!!!!!!

At first I thought of Brotherhood as kind of The Wire-lite but after watching all the available episodes through Netflix, I feel that in many ways they are equally well done. The family element in Brotherhood evens out with the more panoramic scope of The Wire. Both are examples of the best in serial television, which frankly far exceeds most of the movies that Hollywood is cranking out. I regret that the show is ending, but the final episode seemed like anything more would begin to jump the shark. Kudos to all involved in this wonderful show.

It’s a shame, this is the best show since the soprano’s hit HBO and they cancelled it! This show, if marketed correctly would have beaten the soprano’s in popularity in time I am sure of it!

the producers, and director might want to re-air this program on another network that has more viewers. I know they would get a larger following. Just finished watching the final episode on Direct TV T101.

hate to see Brotherhood over. best series I have seen in awhile.
