Showtime’s Golden Globe winners meet the press

We’ve oogled their outfits and cheered their Golden Globe wins. Now we can watch the press interviews with Showtime’s Golden Globe winners: United States of Tara’s Toni Collette and Dexter’s Michael C. Hall and John Lithgow.

Collette wouldn’t say which of the Tara characters she plays is her favorite. “It would be like choosing one of my children.” Also, she decided on the gorgeous gown she wore to the awards because it was comfortable to slip on after an afternoon at the farmers market.

The Trinity Killer had a profound effect on Dexter, Hall told reporters, and viewers could see “there was a potency to that relationship”

When asked about his decision to go public about his cancer diagnosis, Hall said he had every intention of keeping it quiet, but awards season was coming and he decided it was an opportunity to make a statement when he had good news to report about his treatment.

Also, “it’s nice to have a justifiable excuse for accessorizing,” he joked, pointing out the knit cap he wore to cover evidence of his chemotherapy treatment.

Lithgow was asked if he mourned the Trinity Killer’s passing at the end of Season 5. It would have diminished the character for Trinity to go on any longer, Lithgow noted. But he said he really enjoyed creeping people out. He also called Hall “a miracle to work with” and “ego-free.”
