It was the 1980s, and AIDS was making headlines across the globe. But a few people stood up and started urging gay men to avoid unprotected anal sex. Unfortunately, they were treated like outcasts by the mainstream gay community.

In this documentary, 24-year-old filmmaker Daryl Wein follows the controversy created by one-time S/M hustler Richard Berkowitz, his friend Michael Callen, and AIDS researcher Dr. Joseph Sonnabend.
