Sex Pistols Set To Re-Release 'Never Mind The Bollocks'

Never Mind The Bollocks Album CoverThe Sex Pistols are set to re-release their classic debut album ‘Never Mind The Bollocks… Here’s The Sex Pistols’. To celebrate the 30th anniversary of the release of the album, it will be re-issued on October 29th on Vinyl, with a 7″ of ‘Submission’ and a free poster.

The album was originally released on Oct 28, 1977, and Submission was missed off the original track listing. It was instead added as a 7″ single with the first 50,000 copies of the album.

Along with the album, the Pistols will be re-releasing their 4 biggest singles: ‘Anarchy in the UK’, God Save the Queen’, ‘Pretty Vacant’ and ‘Holidays in the Sun’ throughout October on 7″ vinyl.

I love The Sex Pistols, and think not only did they typify a musical genre, but also a generation. In the same way as Oasis did in the 90s, The Sex Pistols divided opinion, usually with youngsters on one side, and the establishment on the other.

It’ll be interesting to see how this re-issue does, and whether it incites the same sort of excitement 30 years on as the first time round.

Will it just be bought by the Old Skool brigade, who want to relive their youth, or will there be a whole new generation clamouring to own a piece of Punk history? I wasn’t there the first time, being born the year it was released, so I think I may have to get myself a copy.
