Executive producer Howard Gordon has confirmed that season 8 of “24″ is a go! It’s literally just around the corner.
“We’re gearing up for a May start date. I’m with the writers now just putting our heads together, coming up with an idea. Unless we fail to come up with an idea that’s satisfactory, you’ll see an eighth season.” says Gordon.
In other great “24″ news, Annie Wersching is confirmed to be returning for season 8, which mean love may be in the air for Jack Bauer! Gordon also gave us a little tease that season 8 could include a death. Who’s? Jack’s?
“We may decide ultimately if there’s not a movie [story] worth telling, Jack may see his last day on television. He could die in the series…I think that’s possible,” Gordon said.

Please dont end season 24 on season 8, let there be continuety, dont kill Jack let him have a happy ending and will make your 24hrs series even more the best season film.

I SAW ALL THE SEASONS UP TO THE 7 STEALING MY OFFICE HOURS. EVERYONE IN THE MOVIE IS SUPERB. ALL I MEAN ALL.MY COUSIN FROM USA CALLED ME OF THE SEASON 8 AND I WAS MAD. JACK BAUER BACK AGAIN.TRUELY, HE IS MY MOTIVATION IN EVERYTHING THAT I DO NOW.THE GUY IS EXCELLENT AND ALMOST PERFECT. KUDOS TO HIM.
YES, IT IS A FILM. NO ONE ELSE DICTATES HOW IT SHOULD END BUT THE FILM MAKERS/DIRECTORS. BUT I WISH JACK NEEDS BEING KEPT ALIVE FOR FUTURE SERIES/SEASONS. WELL, YOU GUYS KNOW HOW TO DO YOUR RE-INCARNATION WHEN NECESSARY, i.e. BY BRINGING BACK SOMEONE THOUGHT TO HAVE DIED LIKE TONY. HOWEVER, IF THE DEATH OF JACK IN THE FILM WILL MAKE IT SELL MORE AND AT THE SAME TIME MAKES IT MORE BENEFICIAL IN TERMS OF LESSONS TO LEARN BY THE PEOPLE, IT IS OKAY BY ME.
ON THE OTHER SIDE, THE DEATH OF JACK MAY MAKE THE REAL PATRIOT FEEL HOPELESS; FOR IT SUGGESTS THAT GOOD NATIONALIST MIGHT EVENTUALLY DIE AND NOT END HAPPILY. PLS, KIM DESERVES HER FATHER AND SO HER FATHER DOES…..

i decided not to watch anymore series when i saw michael scof die and when i saw JAck was dying in season 7 and now i was excited to get back and watch this new season but now u r telling us that Jack is going to die,you producers have been unfair for him all the seasons he has been giving and sacrificing his all and now u want to sacrifice him too?let him have a happy ending with his family in LA with kim and his grand daughter and be respected as a national hero,killing Jack would mean that all seasons were meaning less and you producers can not think anymore,come to Tanzania i will help u figure out how to go with season 9 dont let it end like prison break 24 has been the best series ever

I like 24 more than any other film i’ve ever watched. The writer and the director’re very brilliant. I’d hope to see Baer in 8th seasom cos he’s the heart of 24 without him 24 is dead
DON’T LET SEASON 8 BE THE LAST!!!!!!
I have watched every season of 24 and own every season on dvd – I am a true Jack Bauer fan. No one can play him like Keifer Sutherland does! With all the junk on TV – way too many forensic type shows, reality shows ad nauseum and enough talentless would-be entertainers attempting fame and fortune at the expense of our senses – 24 is the one show that keeps you on the edge of your seat like no other show on the air! It’s multiple story lines that all connect is masterful and our ultimate hero Jack Bauer – after running, getting beaten and ultimately prevailing to save the world is the untimate high! There aren’t many series I’d waste my money purchasing but 24 is well it – I’ve seen every season at least twice. If 24 must end I’d like to see Jack find true love and ride off into the sunset.
I have a story to tell. I must confess that I am not a movie buff – but since my wife introduced the 24 Hours series to me last year, I have not stopped watching the dvds. From season 1 to 7, I have watched them over and over and I have not been able to give any attention to other productions because I keep comparing them with 24 Hours. The producers must be geniuses because I almost can’t find any flaw… Pls tell Mr Kiefer Sunderland that he is my hero. I have introduced the production to some of my friends who are even ultra busy and they have confirmed that they are already addicted to it… If any of his PR people can read this, they should let me have some of his exclusive pix for use in our magazine here in Nigeria, Africa. And please, don’t phase out the Jack character for now… 24 Hours is the best!!!

KIEFER SUTHERLAND IS JUST AMAZING IN 24. 24 IS BY FAR THE BEST SERIES EVER TO BE ON TV AND I KNOW NOTHING LAST,S FOR EVER BUT IF SEASON 8 IS THE LAST OF THE SERIES CAN,T JACK LIVE AND BE HAPPY.THE SHOW IS JUST AWESOME AND I,M JUST COUNTING THE DAYS “TILL JACK,S BACK”. ONE THING,S FOR CERTAIN HE,LL NEVER BE SHORT FOR WORK AFTER 24 BECAUSE THE MAN IS AN AMAZING ACTOR.
Kill off Jack, i hope not, a fine actor. In the real world we need agents like Jack who say screw the rules get the information any way you can.

If Jack dies the whole 24 will loose it, Jack should stay alive and have a happy ending , he needs to see the end of what he started. PLEASE KEEP JACK ALIVE>
Come on – Jack deserves to retire and have some happy time with his family. He’s given so much to his country and lost more than any one (living) individual could. I’ve been a fan from day one and I would be severely disappointed if Jack is killed off… We need heroes who live on (for once)!!!!!
