Season 7 Spoilers: Character General Benjamin Juma

Since 24 resumed shooting a few weeks ago, spoilers have slowly started to come in. The following is a breakdown of a new character that is currently being cast.

Name: General Benjamin Juma
Character Status: Introduced in episode 11, recurring throughout season seven.
Who is he?: A bad guy. Juma will be an African dictator, responsible for mass genocide in a fake nation called Sangala. Apparently he will try to hassle President Taylor (Cherry Jones) into doing what he wants.
Our speculation?: One can’t help but wonder if Sangala will be the nation featured in the season seven prequel.

Who do you think would make a great Juma? And no, you can’t say Forest Whitaker.

Damnit! I was going to say him.

Fake nation? That’s sounding kinda silly to me. I know they can’t really use a real one as it would cause a whole lot of trouble and probably be illegal also but using a fake one? I always liked the idea of dancing around a nation’s name when it came to terrorist sponsors and the like. It stays realistic that way.

However, if there was a logical explanation as to the introduction of a new country, as season 7 would take place many years ahead of 2008 if the timelines of previous seasons are to be factored in, then it would be a bit less tacky for me.

As for an actor to play a dictator, Donald Sutherland in his Dirty Sexy Money role! Oh boy.

Seriously though, I always thought Mr Eko was one of the great characters in LOST. I’d love to see Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje as a violent overlord dictator. He has a fairly commanding presence, a voice and a set of eyes that would put the fear of God into anyone. Jack too? I’d like to know.

Dennis Haysbert could come back as David Palmer’s lost evil twin brother. Now that would be a twist.

Djimon Hounsou would be a great choice for the african dictator. He would make an amazing addition to the cast.

General Benjamin Juma in 24 Season 7 also played in 24 season 3 episode 15 as a detective, very strange, first he is the good guy, and 4 years later the bad guy with an other name…….mistake ?????
