Screening & Signing For New Dave McKean Exhibit

Sadly, I won’t make it to Chicago this weekend to see Nitrate and Kinogeists at the Portage Theatre, which features Dave McKean’s recent paintings inspired by silent film.  Perhaps this exhibit makes up for the snoozefest otherwise known as Mirrormask.  But wait!  In case you didn’t sleep the first time around, there’s a special screening of the film on Saturday, July 18 at 9 PM with McKean introducing.  More interesting will be the set of his short films proceeding.  Also on display is Century Guild’s amazing collection of rare silent film posters.

Before the festivities, geek out and get your copy of Sandman autographed.  McKean will be signing at Chicago Comics from 2-4 PM.

Anyone going to be there?  I’m off to sulk and watch Faust.
