Scott Rudin to Produce "Man Under"

image Is Scott Rudin the hardest working guy in show biz or what? The mega-producer behind such films as There Will Be Blood, No Country for Old Men, and Stop-Loss, is set to produce writer Ann Cherkis‘ darkly comic drama, “Man Under.”

That’s in addition to the 33 — yes, 33! — other movie projects that Rudin has in the next couple of years. This guy must have some energy. Or lots of really good assistants.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the American Beauty-esque story revolves around the drab, depressed and dysfunctional members of a suburban family. A young photographer who takes their family portrait is murdered and the photo makes its way to her high-profile museum retrospective, thrusting them into the spotlight of a trendy art scene.

The script was snagged in a low- to mid-six figure deal. Also signed on to produce is Alexandra Milchan, Aimee Peyronnet and Miramax Films. The concept generated industry buzz last year after making the rounds of several studios and agencies.
