According to Publishers Weekly, Richard Branson and Deepak Chopra’s Virgin Comics venture is no more. They created the company in 2006 to capitalize on the Indian comics market. The company also planned to use Branson and Chopra’s extensive network of connections to forge other entertainment partnerships.
One of those partnerships, previously reported on by us, was with the Sci Fi Channel. That teamup would have given Sci Fi the right to make TV shows based on Virgin properties and Virgin would have gotten first crack at comics based on Sci Fi’s programming.
