Sarah Wayne Callies recently chatted with the Star Bulletin regarding her career, her various roles, and Prison Break.
Sarah said that it’s been great to work with the Prison Break writers because they are open to a dialogue with the actors. “They make it a real collaboration, which is such a gift because it’s not that way on every set.”
As for her particular character, Sarah says she had to fight for restraint. She felt that since Prison Break is so full of action, she wanted Dr. Sara Tancredi to be a “character who was beat-to-beat, moment-to-moment, word-to-word very believable. And very understated.”
In fact, when the writers wanted Sara and Michael to kiss, both Sarah and Wentworth Mmiller objected, saying that it was too soon! “We pushed that kiss back for a long, long time,” she laughed. “I think that allowed us to build the tension between them in a way that made it more interesting to watch than a contemporary sensibility when two people are attracted to each other, and the very next scene they’re waking up together.”
Sarah also talks about the path that Sara and Michael currently follow. “For Sara, loving Michael (who has a brain tumor) means caring for him in a way that tries to get him to care for himself and his own health,” she says. Of course the character also views that as selfish because he’s the only thing she has left in her life and because she’s trying to get something from him.

Yah it was probably the Riots episode… maybe when he helped her down from the attick and they had that long stare between them… HOT
No way…I’m glad they pushed that kiss back. it came at the perfect time and the sexual tension that has been building all season was only heightened.
I just can’t believe they pushed back the kissing scene in the first season!!!! what in the world were they thinking??*&^%*!@#*
I think they were originally meant to kiss on the riots episode… any ideas??

The last sentence is not correct.
I saw this interview in another site and the last sentence is … “Part of that is selfish, because he’s the last thing left in her life. The altruistic sense of that is she’s the only voice in his life who isn’t trying to get something from him.”

She wants a life with him obviously hes the only “good” guy she ever met in her life and yet hes a criminal as well just like them lol , i feel sorry for her she only falls for junkies and baddies. Im glad he fell for her but, comparing to thier past, he was a good man that does charities but she was a junky Dr that steals needles and morphine just like what her daddy said addict and a thief. but i think they are equal now both have mistakes and im sure they have a plan to make it right blah blah…Misa get a life i love XOXO
I agree I think the kiss comment was ment for the first season…and that was one sexy kiss. She is great in interviews, so well spoken

It deffo isn’t too soon, how much have they been through together… alot. i can’t belive they told the writers it’s too soon. if only they had of gotten on with it haha!
yeah after reading it again im sure thats what they meant – she wants him for herself – she wants him to live because she wants to be able to have some hope of a future with him.
oh sierra.You beat me.Anyway,i don’t really see she’s just using him.She had a chance to leave him in season 2,but she decided to go back just before kellerman captured him..It’ll be too much to turn sara into someone who pretends to love mikey just to get something for her.Imo,her feeling to him is genuine.It’s just he’s the only one left for her ,so she really doesn’t want to lose him She wants something for him,yes of course,to love her,to be by her,because that’s what happiness is for her now.I think..
Mmm,about the kiss,how long is it that we have to wait?Mikey is getting sicker ;).Never mind..Loving the scenes we’ve gotten so far between these two.

what exactly does that last line mean about her trying to get something from him? sounds kinda sketchy the way they put it – like she doesnt actually love him and shes just using him for something – thats how they make it sound anyways. anyone else agree or have a different take on that last line?
