Sarah Bolger dishes more about her role on The Tudors, Season 2

At 16, Sarah Bolger is in the running to be my new favorite young actress (Now that Ellen Page is out of her teens, she’s graduated to become one of my favorite adult actresses).

Anyway, Sarah’s still doing the press junket for her film The Spiderwick Chronicles, but the interviews almost always segue into her upcoming role as Princess Mary in Season 2 of The Tudors.

An 11-year veteran of the stage and screen, Sarah talks about movies with maturity that somehow doesn’t come off as precocious. She recently told the Vancouver Sun that she loves learning the nuances of the characters she plays. “I’m not a method actress in any sense, but I enjoy ‘being’ that character and working on her and doing a lot of research,” she said.

In the case of Princess Mary — who has yet to earn her “Bloody” nickname — Sarah said she imagined Catholicism’s rituals as a stand-in for parenting, since the young Mary is barred from seeing her mother, Catherine. Henry also has no time to spend with her because he’s deep into his infatuation with Anne Boleyn.

Mary’s so repressed and neglected, Sarah says,”I’m so sure that she’s going to kill someone at some stage.” If not in Season 2, history tells us she’ll sure make a run at those Protestants later.

I think she’s perfect for that role she really looks the part as in she looks like she should have lived around the time of the reformation!!! LOL!!! I hope she does really well but i hated the spiderwick cronicles!! I love the books but the moving ruined them. However that doesn’t reflect badly on her acting just how the movie was transferred from book to movie script.
