Rock Band Video Game Review

I’m going to kinda keep this short because honestly I didn’t get to play the game all that long. I went to my brothers place for New Years and my nephews got Rock Band for PS2 for Christmas so I had to give it a shot. I love it!

The guitar for Rock Band is a bit larger than the Guitar Hero guitar and is much more realistic. The strumming bar is a bit stiffer and it has buttons lower on fretboard to give you that “Solo” effect. When hitting the notes it’s not as lenient with timing as Guitar Hero is. You have to hit the notes tighter.

The drum set it pretty cool. Built pretty well But I could see it getting broken easily if not cared for properly. You don’t have to hit the pads hard to hit the beats. It’s fairly easy and I think it could teach good timing for someone that wants to become a drummer.

I wasn’t quite sure what to think about this when I tried it briefly at Wal Mart. I thought that it may be a bit difficult for some to get into with the mix of everything. It’s hard to get a real band together on the same sheet of music sometimes and I thought this might be the same way. Over all I think Guitar Hero and Rock Band could be a good start for an aspiring musician. Learning an instrument and timing can be hard and a bit redundant at times and I think both of these games could help. That being if the aspiring musician also makes the time to practice the real deal.

I will pick this up sooner or later but I think I’ll wait to get a Xbox 360.
