JEM is a crack-addict, Strawberry Shortcake seeks retribution and let’s pay a visit to The Little Slaughterhouse on the Prairie — what could it be but Robot Chicken?
Seth Green and Matt Senreich are the evil geniuses behind this quirky stop-motion series that pokes fun at everything pop culture. Forget I said, “fun,” this show is seriously deranged.
The folks at Robot Chicken use action figures from the past and present to act out the skits that are way over-the-top. Think Amy Winehouse meets Courtney Love kind of over-the-top and nothing is sacred.
In the Season 3 DVD (which streets tomorrow) you’ll see Governor Schwarzenegger investigating the illegal immigration issue with Speedy Gonzales and Dora the Explorer, a ‘where are they now’ on dolls of the past and the gang from Star Wars sit down for an awkward dinner party hosted by Lord Vader himself. It shouldn’t be all that funny, but it is.
On the downside, Robot Chicken gets a lot of laughs from violence and language so don’t plan on watching this one with the kiddies. It may air on Cartoon Network but this uncensored DVD is rated R.
And speaking of the DVD, the best thing about Robot Chicken Season 3 isn’t the episodes themselves, but the special features. Seth Green turns a boring office tour into a totally funny bit and the collection of video blogs are both amusing and informative. Talk about the coolest job in the world — follow the Robot Chicken toy buyers as they go out looking for more vintage action figures to destroy. (List in the left back pocket, receipts in the right — or is that the other way around?)
The DVD also contains alternate audio, commentaries, deleted scenes and a gag reel which is mostly just gory, and yes, I know they’re only toys but it was too much for me to watch. All-in-all, nearly 3 hours of bonus features and 20 eleven minute episodes on two discs in a neat, pseudo-Japanimation-style package.

My favorite action figure as a kid was my brother’s Transformer. It was a red truck and turned into a person/robot.
I like the yoyo
I spent hours and HOURS playing with my “The Sunshine Family” http://thisrainbowfamily.com/Blog/SunshineFamily.jpg
I still have all 3 of them plus the grandpa and grandma. A few years ago I was at a yard sale and I found the original 3 (Mom, Dad, baby) still in their original box, needless to say I snapped them up fast and only for $5.00! I was thrilled but I have to say that they really don’t mean as much to me as MINE, the ones I spent so much of my childhood playing with.
Thank you for the chance to win and for the chance to go back down memory lane :)
My favorite doll as a kid was a Barbie, of course!
Nice giveaway!

i had tons of barbies and loved each and every one :)
Any barbie!
Batman was my favorite action figure.
My old school Ninja Turtles figures. The shredder was my favorite… kind of wish I still had it.
I had the monkee’s puppet and still have it
We have some ancient GI Joe’s.
Bucky O Hare
He-Man Master of the Universe
My favorite doll as a kid was Strawberry Shortcake because she smelled so sweet! :)
The Smurfs
I had a red-headed nurse doll, with a hat and a white coat, and a clipboard and stethoscope and everything. I’m sure that has nothing to do with my being a RN now, right?
I have an awesome collection of quite a few of the first ever ‘kids-meal toys’, most of them ‘still-in-the-bag’ — and they’re mine, all mine (insert maniacal laughter here)… Problem is, I can’t let them watch Robot Chicken, since then NOBODY gets any sleep for awhile…
But I could figure out a way around this, if I win!
I loved and still have my American Girl Molly.
Cabbage Patch!
I had Dawn dolls. Like Barbie, but smaller (and cheaper – we were poor.)
My loved my Rainbow Brite doll when I was a kid.
