When they’re in Rhode Island filming Showtime’s next season of Brotherhood, you can bet the cast and production staff will get a warm welcome. The Providence Journal just published this fascinating watchdog story about Steven Feinberg, who runs the state’s Film & TV Office.

A Rhode Island native and former Hollywood writer, Feinberg now regularly schmoozes with entertainment industry types to aid his home state’s chances of snagging a new production. Taxpayers foot the bill for anything he thinks might entice Hollywood talent to work in RI.
Last year, Feinberg spent more than $700 on a dinner whose guests included Brotherhood’s creator and executive producer and stars Annabeth Gish, Jason Clarke and Jason Isaacs.
He also provided chauffeur service to Isaacs and Fionnula Flanagan last summer, at a cost of more than $400, so they would attend a party and screening at the Newport film festival. “Because of their presence, the stature of the festival was raised to new heights,” he told the ProJo.
Can’t wait to see what riches Rhode Island will bestow on the Caffee clan for Season 3…
