Their show may not have snagged the Golden Globe for best TV drama, but newlywed Dexter co-stars Michael C. Hall and Jennifer Carpenter were positively luminous on the red carpet at the awards ceremony Sunday night.
The couple, who play brother and sister on the Showtime series, dated for about a year and a half before tying the knot in an intimate outdoor ceremony in Big Sur on New Year’s Eve.
Hall and Carpenter had kept their relationship low key. Though they were occasionally spotted shopping or dining together, the Globes marked their first official public appearance together.
Like many actresses on the red carpet last night, Carpenter chose a dark hue and a plunging neckline. Her chocolate brown and black gown featured dramatic ruching on the bodice, set off smartly with a diamond fringe necklace.
Hall, who was nominated for the second time as best actor in a TV drama for his work on Dexter but didn’t win, looked every inch the dapper escort in a classic tux with a black tie.
Showtime recently renewed Dexter for fourth and fifth seasons, so we’ll have plenty of chances to see the couple work together in 2009 and 2010.
