Recap of November 29 Family Guy, Cleveland Show, and American Dad

I have to say that this week’s episodes, with the exception of a few bits, sucked. And sucked HARD. I don’t think I laughed once, they were that bad. Let’s recap:

The Cleveland Show: From Bed to Worse

Basically, Rollo creates a big stink about not being able to sleep in the same bed with Donna. Yes, that’s the whole storyline. I kept waiting for it to get better, but it never did. Grade: D

Family Guy: Dog Gone

I always love me some Consuela jokes, so this particular episode got me out of the funk that was left over from the Cleveland Show. Brian angsting over, oh, EVERYTHING, is old now. We get it, he’s deep, let’s move on. The animal abuse bits were way gross and not funny, just shocking (they really could have done a lot more with these). Grade: C+

American Dad: G-String Circus

When you’re shaking your head and muttering “what the hell” during an American Dad episode, you know it’s got to be bad. Only high point was Roger, which is the only character that keeps me watching this show. Grade: D

Maybe it was just the leftover turkey, but I was not impressed by this weekend’s MacFarlane offerings. Perhaps he should have stuck with the traditional Sunday after Thanksgiving tradition of phoning everything in and calling it a day, because these episodes needed a LOT more work.
