Brett Ratner is in negotiations to direct The Incredible Shrinking Man for Universal Pictures and Imagine Entertainment, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Brian Grazer is producing the comedy-fantasy project, and Eddie Murphy is attached to star. The two worked together on 1999′s Life.
A remake of the 1957 sci-fi classic starring Grant Williams, the film tells the story of a famous Las Vegas magician who’s put under a spell that causes him to shrink. In fact, he has to find a way to reverse the spell before he shrinks away to nothing.
Ratner (pictured with Patrick Stewart on the set of X-Men: The Last Stand), one of the hardest-working guys in Hollywood, is currently directing one of the short subjects in the New York, I Love You anthology film. He’s also attached to direct Playboy, Grazer’s project about Hugh Hefner.
Check out Brett Ratner’s official blog. It’s cool!
