Yikes, it seems that Prison Break is falling in the ratings. Come on, everyone – we need to watch!!
TV By the Numbers says “More bad news for Fox at 9 as Prison Break fell to 5.887 million viewers down 10% from last week. Its 18-49 rating was down 4% to 2.5, and its 18-34 rating fell 8% to 2.3.“
The problem is not people not watching it anymore….People do watch it and more and more do. the only problem is people watch it online….
PB is doing well in the UK, season 4 has some good storylines, and the plot thickens. A lot can still be done with the show, and the number of people watching is increasing slowly, creeping back up to about 7.5 million in the US, and .3 million in the UK, bearing in mind, only people with sky tv(not cable) can watch the show. So lets hope the script continues to keep fans hanging on the edge of there seats, and keep the show going in live status.
Last March, when EVERYONE was saying that bringing back Sara as going to save the show, I confidently predicted that the ratings would actually fall–and guess what? I was right! I TOLD you all that bringing back sara just to make the loud but ultimately insignificant number of Sara fans happy, would only drive thinking fans away from this show. Evrybody knows that she was dead and bringing her back just makes people throw their hands up in frustration. The writers treated the fans like they were stupid and now they are reaping the consequences of that action. The seaon finale last year garnered 9 million viewers WITHOUT Sara. Now she’s back and they can barely get 6 million?
Where are all those obnoxious Sara fans NOW? The ones who told me that Prison Break’s ratings would SKYROCKET with Sara’s return? HAHAHA! NOT!!
You guys will be lucky if your stupid show doesn’t get cancelled by midyear! These ratings are just further proof that a tv show should never cater to a whining monority of internet obsessed fans. The sara lovers demanded Sara back and they got her–and now it has ruined the show and made it tank in the ratings.
And let me also say that I happen to know that it doesnt matter how well the show does overseas (it gets AWFUL ratings here in Australia and is on at 11:30pm at night because no one watches it, btw…)if the show tanks in the ratings in the uSA, then it will be cancelled/not renewed for another season. Its that simple. The US market is the only one that really matters in this case, and the show has gone from 16 million viewers at its height, to 6 million–that’s pretty bad!
And I love to say I told you so, so…I TOLD YOU SO!!
I’m one of those who didn’t watch last week. I was without electricity so it wasn’t by choice. I thought part of it might have been because of that but I don’t know about other states… *shrugs*
I admit I do download PB (especially if I miss an episode). I always try to watch live though! I’ve been trying to get more people into the show… I guess all I can do is keep watching and supporting the show. Hopefully ratings will increase as we get further into the season!!!
My Mondays are devoted to PB! Seriously, if something happens and this gets taken off the air, I will be devastated that we don’t see what happens to the brothers or to the original characters for that matter!!! I wish my TV counted in the ratings. LOL.
pb this season isn’t as god as the first one,but i still think it’s a good show.addictive and intriguingit’s very very popular here in indonesia. …heroes is more popular but not really my cup of tea.
although the people in the US don’t realize it, PB is far better than Heroes and any other show for that matter!!!!!!!!!!
Why WOULD I watch?! I want the show to hurry up and end so that this brilliant show isn’t scarred any more by the travesty that is the current Prison Break.

The bummer thing is is that not only is it on at the same time as Monday Night Football, now it has to compete with Heroes. That is my other favorite show, but Prison Break wins out, hands down.

ally is right. They never consider downloads w/ ratings. I don’t even think ratings counts are accurate. In my entire life, I have never known a person in a “Nielsen household.” Anyway, PB does almost no promotions, actors do no interviews, no ads, almost nothing. Not surprised about the ratings here.
People are downloading these days. I like Michael and Sara’s scenes a lot and watch them many times. I think ratings are not accurate nowadays because one has to count the people who are downloading too.
How does it work there in america? Do the people in the networks consider how much the show is downloaded? excuse my english! =)
I know why the ratings are droping..there is 10,000 people downloading it..so they can watch it at there time..just look at the top list most downloaded videos..number 1 prison break..2nd house…heres the site.

Maybe Monday nights is not the best night, another night may be the answer. I think Monday night football would be hard to contend with. Lets hope fox will allow us to watch the full 22 episodes. The way things are going I don’t know if we will
quess we all need to do some mouth to mouth advertising! season 1 got more attention this way…. I know a lot of us will be devistated if there are no more seasons to look forward to, so come on!!
and please do not panic, the reviews are fine, perhaps it will pick up and certainly the fans need to stop talking negative about all seasons, we just need to have faith and spread the word!!
A lot of people were pissed because Sarah was killed off, and they said even though she is coming back they arent going to watch season 4 because the writers ruined it in season 3 “killing her”… I was upset about it too but hearing she was coming back made me want to watch it even more.
Surely not because of anti-SWC people?!?
It’s the one significant change from Season 3 :S
This show has been on the decline from S1 till now :(
I guess some might think that it’s only great for one season (up to the escape), anything after that is mediocre :(
It could also be that the Closer was on, it was the season finale…I tivoed it. Hopefully more people will watch this season is a lot better than last season
