Episode 3.10: Dirt Nap
Aired: January 21, 2008
Recap
Sammy and Lechero get into an argument. “I want Scofield as dead as you,” Lechero says. “But not at the cost of an uprising.” T-Bag is caught eavesdropping on the conversation. He heads out to the courtyard and gives Whistler a look.
Someone sends Mahone an envelope. Inside is a picture of his son. Whistler stops by and tells him the coast is clear, it’s time to go.
Reinforcing the Tunnel
Whistler appears and tells Michael that Mahone is joining them in the escape, that he has something they need. T-Bag joins Lechero, Michael, Whistler, and Mahone to enter the tunnel. Michael tells T-Bag he needs to stay behind to keep watch.
Down in the tunnel Michael explains that they will need to support the ground in order for it not to collapse while they are digging. “Two days,” he says.
Lechero and T-Bag talk and T-Bag is sent on a mission. Lechero seems a little stressed.
Take Over
Sammy walks in and puts a gun to the back of Lechero’s head. He tells Lechero that it’s his room now. Lechero tells Sammy that it is suicide. “Shut up old man,” Sammy says. Lechero tells him that there is no way he could run Sona. Sammy tells him that he’ll let him walk out of there, for respect for what he was.
“All you ready to do this?” Sammy asks his guys. They go to the courtyard and Sammy whistles. “I’m running things now,” he shouts. He holds up the chicken foot for anyone who wants to deny it. The first order of business? A case of rum for the first man who brings him Michael Scofield.
Lincoln is typing on a computer looking for “Gary Miller.” Sucre enters, talking on a cell phone, and says that they will be there with the cash. He then gives Lincoln a name of a guy to meet with. Lincoln tells Sucre to meet with Susan and tell her what she wants to hear. “I’ve got your back, whatever you need, whatever you want…” Lincoln tells Sucre.
“Scofield steps out of that tunnel, he’s a dead man,” Lechero tells T-Bag. They decide they need to get rid of Sammy. Their sights are on Bellick, who is up in the tunnel bragging about his recent victory. T-Bag sneaks up and tells Bellick about the escape, and also that he knows how he won his chicken foot fight. “If you do the same thing to Sammy, you’re in.”
Outside Sona
Lincoln and Sofia are walking. Sofia asks if the plan is to screw over Whistler. She says that he loved her, promised to take her to Paris, and that she hasn’t turned her back on him yet. Lincoln gives his word that Whistler will be okay and then opens the car door for her.
Susan B. is in a bar typing on a Blackberry.
To: Edward Guthrie
From: Gary Miller
Re: Great Sales!
Ed, we’ll be in contact soon. Sales are through the roof! Hope you’re working on your putting…Gary.
Sucre walks in and up to the bar. He sits down next to her. She is almost hitting on him!! Sucre tells her that he has no info and isn’t cooking anything up. Sucre says that he got the message and knows he doesn’t have any choice. “I could have made something up, just to get paid,” he says. He gets up to leave but she tells him to sit down again. She hands him a cashier’s check. Half now, half when he’s done. “Keep your ears open, sugar,” she says as she walks out.
The Chicken Foot
Mahone and Whistler are holding up the tunnel roof, struggling against the weight. Michael steps in to secure the support and it holds. They step down. Whistler tells Michael that he was supposed to kill him, to protect his family. Michael doesn’t really care.
Bellick saunters up to Sammy and asks where he can find the chicken foot. He begins to insult Sammy, talking about his fruity little mustache. Sammy hands him the chicken foot and Bellick throws it down at his feet. The crowd goes wild. “Fifteen minutes,” Sammy says. Bellick raises his hands to the crowd.
T-Bag pumps Bellick up and tells him that he is definitely in. Bellick says that there is no acetone left and they need to call off the fight. “I’m a dead man,” he says.
Lincoln and Sofia get out of the car in a not-so-great neighborhood. Lincoln tells her to stay close as he knocks on a door. A man opens. He asks for the money and Lincoln says he has it. They walk into the house. Lincoln shows the money and says he wants to see the product. They argue over what happens first. The man shows Lincoln a bomb. Lincoln gives him the cash. “Grande?” he asks. “Si,”. Lincoln asks how to trigger it by remote. The man hands him a cell phone and tells him to dial “1 1 send”.
The Fisherman
Whistler tells Mahone and Michael that he is a fisherman, he really is, but he’s a little more connected. He says that one day Gretchen approached him and asked him if he wanted to work exclusively for her. “So you two have history?” Michael asks. “Yes, and she’s been an absolute nightmare,” Whistler says. They gave him some coordinates and he had to take them there. Now he has to take them back.
“Quit embarrassing yourself,” Michael replies.
“We’re not two chics at the bar for you to pick up on,” Mahone says. “You’re working for the company.”
The Fight
Sammy is practicing his boxing moves. One of his gang approaches and tells him he doesn’t have to fight. He shows him the gun.
Mahone begins to worry about Lechero not coming back down the tunnel. He says someone needs to go up soon and figure out what is going on.
Sammy meditates to some hard rock and then heads out to the courtyard.
Bellick is running around looking for anything – shoe polish, paint thinner, glue. He is led out to the courtyard. T-Bag finds Lechero and tells him that he cannot hide out all day. He says that Bellick is going to lose to Sammy and that eventually Michael will come out of the tunnel. And once that happens their chance of escape is gone forever.
The guys leave the tunnel as Sammy pummels Bellick. Bellick lands a few punches of his own but appears to be losing the fight. Cautiously Whistler, Mahone, and Michael walk out. One of Sammy’s guys ask if they want to watch the fight. They run back to the tunnel with Sammy’s guys right behind. They grab Whistler and throw him into the wall. Michael steps in but Mahone closes the door.
In the ring, Sammy puts Bellick in a headlock. Blood pours of his mouth. One of the guys runs out and yells to Sammy that he’s seen Scofield. Sammy drops Bellick and runs downstairs.
Negotiation
They hold Whistler hostage and yells to Michael to open the door. Michael tells Mahone to step aside, that they need Whistler. “What do you suggest Alex?” Michael asks. “Let’s be ready for them,” Mahone says.
Whistler yells not to open the door and Sammy knocks him out.
Sofia asks Lincoln what the bomb is for but Lincoln says she doesn’t need to know. Sucre arrives but doesn’t tell Lincoln about the money. Lincoln gives Sucre the bomb.
Mahone finds a rod in the tunnel and gives it to Michael.
Sammy goes back in the courtyard and walks right past Bellick. “You’re hiding Scofield in your room,” he says to Lechero before they drag him back.
Psycho Susan B.
Sucre meets with Susan B. He gets into the passenger side of her car. “What is so urgent?” she asks. “Lincoln bought a gun,” he says as he sneaks the bomb out and puts in her car. “If anything changes I’ll get back to you,” he says. Susan B. stops him and tells him that she thinks that the original Lincoln/Sucre argument was staged. That she then traced the cashier’s check and found it was sent to Maricruz. Sucre yells at her and says “if anything happens to her…” and Susan B. stops him. She tells him to go get some real information or Maricruz and her head will part ways. Psycho!
Patience Sammy!
Sammy yells through the tunnel that Lechero is there and then asks for the combination. He has a gun to encourage Lechero for the numbers. Michael opens the door. Sammy leads the guys into the tunnel and realizes that Lechero was escaping with them. “Take it, it’s yours,” Michael tells Sammy. Sammy then says that he’s taking it and Michael is going nowhere.
“Promise me you’ll take Whistler with you,” Michael says. Sammy slaps him with the gun. “I understand why you’re going to kill me, but he’s done nothing wrong,” Michael continues. Michael tells Sammy that he needs to build braces… Sammy climbs up into the tunnel to look and tons of sand pours down on top of him. The rest of the guys fight and Lechero begins shooting Sammy’s men.
They stare at the sand… and discuss how this is really going to set them back. Michael stares at Sammy’s body.
Secrets
Lechero walks into the courtyard and kicks the bodies over the ledge. He takes the case of rum back downstairs. Bellick grabs T-Bag. “I’m in,” he insists.
Lincoln and Sofia stop in town. Lincoln tells Sofia to stay put. She hears a boat whistle. Lincoln asks her if she can get home from there. “If he doesn’t take you, I will.” Lincoln says as he hands her a paper bag. He drives off. She opens the bag and there’s a keyring with the Eiffel Tower.
Flashback to Michael pulling out one of the supports, causing the cave in and Sammy to die. Mahone tells Michael that it never gets any easier…
Out in the courtyard McGrady begs Michael to take him with them and says he’ll give his whole life savings – $173. “You don’t want to be any part of this,” Michael says.
Sofia begins to go through Whistler’s things and takes them out of the closet. She turns his picture upside down. As she is going through his stuff she finds something buried in his duffel bag. There’s a briefcase inside…

pap and Ramu; I have to warn you guys; it’s the clean version, radio version.. Nothing further, just warning you.. :-) [Without the cuss-words]
ramu you are greeeeeeeeaaaaaaat….thanks a lot
Ok i found, it’s “Put them in their place” from Mobb Deep
Yeah i’m searching this song too :(
(the song when sammy meditates before battle).
please help me to find the song in this episode…23 min. when sammy prepare for the fight
that was the best episode of season 3 !
why ? because all of our fav characters were there, doing their best with a good dialogue !
my favorite is the Alex/Michael interaction
the plot was going along perfect not like episode 9 or you couldn’t really understand that Michael wanted the general to be killed by Susan that he could go back inside Sona.
In this one, it was clear that he did the dirt to Sammy even if we had the explanation
( writers : please we did not need the ” flash back” i think that was weak and we’re not stupid)
i love the cool, calm and helpful Alex …
i was glad that Tbag was back to his best
and i am starting to like Bellick.
i hope the following episodes are as good as this one.
also i think the french will appreciate the eiffel tower, thank you :)
your welcome, :-)
:D
