Hair & Makeup:
Director Kevin Hooks takes us behind-the-scenes to the makeup and wardrobe departments.

The actors originally get to pick out their costumes so they can feel comfortable. The costume designers look at the actors to see how they move and who they are to determine the specific needs. A lot of times it isn’t about deciding ahead of time what the costume is. It’s more about what the story needs. They also try to give each character some individuality.

Makeup has a challenging job. There is a natural feel since it’s in prison. Every day the makeup crew takes pictures so they can make a match of continuity for their hair, their beards, etc for the next scene of filming.
