What’s in the Box

Lincoln is riding to the prison. He rests his head on the window and flash-backs to the box.

Michael walks through the prison. [Do you think they ever wash their clothes?] He watches the gravedigger. Whistler comes up and chats about the escape plan and being on the “same team.” Michael says he has a lot of work to do and pushes past Whistler.

Another Lincoln flash back to the box. He walks up the fence. Can’t look Michael in the eye. Michael tells Lincoln to reach out to the gravedigger. “What are you not telling me?” Michael asks. “All these people that have been hurt because of me. You know, it’s… I’m so sorry Michael.” Michael tells him it’s not his fault and to get to the gravedigger. Lincoln walks away.

Lincoln lifts the box lid. It’s Sara’s head. Lincoln collapses against the wall.

Books and Pens and Pills, Oh My

Lincoln walks up to Susan B. “I’m just a soldier in this war, Lincoln. Just like you. I did not want to do this.” She threatens to cut LJ into pieces if Michael doesn’t get busy. She says that if he wants to talk, she knows what the pain feels like. Susan B. then tells Lincoln that she needs the real book. That the handwriting analysis on the first one came back and his “handwriting hasn’t changed since high school.”

McGrady plays basketball with a hoop painted on the wall. Michael bets him and McGrady loses. Michael asks for the cross around his neck. He says it’s just a loaner.

Lechero is up his pad making out with his lady The lights go out.

Mahone sits in his cell, staring at his mirror. He inches closer. A hand grabs his soldier but when he turns around, nothing is there. Michael steps in, but it wasn’t his hand… Michael tells Mahone that he is “in”. Michael tells him to get a pen, to alter some documents. He also says he needs Mahone to get his act together because he is attracting attention.

Lechero and his guys head down to check the circuit breaker.

Bellick approaches Mahone because he wants to get involved. Mahone mentions the black felt-tipped pen and pushes past Bellick.

Whistler and Sofia talk at the fence. Sofia tells him that she knows he is going to try to escape, that Lincoln told her everything. Whistler tells her not to trust them and to be everything, that he will die if anything happens to her. [Is this our new MiSa?]

Michael tucks some duct tape under his shirt. Mahone shows up with a black pen, but it’s not felt-tipped. Mahone hears voices and sees Haywire through some laundry. He hears the words “do not trust him.”

Lechereo asks Michael about the electricity. He says that his phone is the lifeline and asks if Michael can fix it. “It’s not that simple,” Michael says. He explains that the electricity runs underground, outside the prison. Lechero tells him he is going out there, out into no-mans land.

“I don’t think I can do this,” Michael says. Lechero says he’ll do something for Michael if he does it. Michael asks for a new cell.

The Gravedigger and Some Digging

Sucre is doctoring up an ID. Lincoln walks in. Sucre says he’s going to take off, be out of his hair in a while. Lincoln says that before he goes he needs a translator. Sucre says that he can’t wait, he needs to get on the bus. Someone knocks on the door. It’s Sofia. They’re now a team. And she speaks Spanish, conveniently enough!

Michael stands in Lechero’s *office* waiting for the phone to ring. Lechero leads him downstairs.

Mahone approaches one of the graffiti artists, asking for a pen. He watches Lechero and Michael walk through the courtyard. The gates open. Mahone hears more of Haywire’s voice.

One of the guards asks Michael if he thinks he can solve the electrical problem. Michael says that he thinks he can, but they will need to dig. “My men will shoot you in the back of the head if you so much as look at the fence,” the guard replies.

Bellick offers to dig. Michael’s not too happy about that. Bellick threatens to tell everything that he knows, which isn’t very much!

Lincoln and Sofia approach the gravedigger while he’s working on his car.

The boys start digging. Eventually they hit the lines. Michael messes around with the wires. Bellick walks out of the trench. Whistler lets on that he realizes Michael is from Fox River. He says Bellick can’t be trusted. Michael says that Mahone thinks he is in on it but that he’ll probably self-destruct.

Mahone is offered some drugs from one of Lechero’s guys.

The Electricity is Back

Bellick runs to Lechero. Says that Michael is taking him for a ride. Bellick says that Michael was talking from escaping. Bellick tells him that he worked in the prison that Michael escaped from and that he gave him the shovels to dig his way out. He also says that Michael buried something in the junction box in the yard. “Go see for yourself.”

Lechero grabs Michael and says that he is trying to trick him.

The two head out to the yard. Michael lifts the plate and moves the dirt. He taped the wires together and packed it in with dirt. [Of course I'm sure that's not all he did!!] Michael then says that he needs to go turn on the switch. Lechero follows him down. Michael looks a little nervous. He flashbacks to walking down there with McGrady. He had placed the cross inside to short the circuit. Michael flips the switch, knowing that it won’t work. He is able to grab the cross without the guys seeing and the power returns. “Transformer delay,” he calls it before asking for his new cell.

T-Bag Gets His Place

T-Bag suffocates the drug guy by putting a plastic bag over his head. He then shoves a needle in his arm and removes the bag.

Lincoln calls Susan B. and tells her that the gravedigger wants $15,000. Sofia says she’s going with him. They begin arguing in front of Sucre. “They killed Sara and put her head in a box. They’ve got my son,” he yells. Sucre says he’s sorry and Lincoln walks out the door. Sucre runs his hand over his head, starts to have second thoughts.

T-Bag is led upstairs. He sees the drug dealer on the floor. “Do you know anything about this,” Lechero asks. T-Bag says he didn’t know about him using. T-Bag says that they were friends. Lechero says that there’s now an opening on his crew.

Michael returns the cross to McGrady. “You’re a real smart guy. What the hell are you doing in prison?”

Mahone hands Michael a pen. “So what’s the next step” he asks. Michael says he’ll keep him posted. “You know what you need to do,” Haywire says.

One More Grave

Lincoln hands over the $15,000 to the gravedigger. He asks for more money. Susan B. responds by shooting him! She says that he would have sold them out.

T-Bag meanders up to Mahone and offers him some drugs, no strings attached.

Bellick is led upstairs. Lechero’s guys hold him down. Lechero lifts up his shirt and pours hot coffee down his bag. T-Bag actually has to look away.

Michael moves into his new cell. Mahone shows up with th epen. “You left this in your old cell,” he says. He has a knife in his hand. He stabs the wall next to his head and tells Michael not to send him on any more wild goose chases. He says he’s not an errand boy and that he’s going with Michael when he escapes.

The Plan Unfolds

Michael meets Lincoln at the fence. He asks about Sara and LJ. Lincoln says that they are fine. Lincoln tells Michael that the gravedigger is unavailable. BUT they were able to go to to the supervisor. Turns out he needed some cash.

We see Sucre walk into the courtyard to pick up the dead body. And Whistler is sent a package. His bird book with a note inside. “You’re running out of time.”

Michael watches Sucre out the window. The chemical they spray on the bodies to prevent the smell caused by decomposition ALSO burns through steel. Go figure. Sucre sprays some on the fence.
