Jao is the oldest chimp at Chimp Eden. He’s 44 and was rescued in April 2006. According to reports and research Jao may even be the oldest chimp is South Africa, which is AMAZING! Because Jao used to tour with a circus he now has smoking and alcohol addictions. Meet Jao!

I worked, very briefly, at a chimp rescue and I can tell you, it’s incredibly hard work. The chimps are absolutely beautiful beings and I have so much respect and admiration for people like Mr. Cussons. What a God-send he is!!!! This show is fabulous! I am totally addicted. His passion and compassion bring tears to my eyes every show!!!! Thank you Animal Planet!!!!!
