Parks and Recreation: Meet Leslie Knope

As most of us know by now, NBC’s brand-spanking-new Amy Poehler sitcom called Parks and Recreation premieres Thursday, April 9, at 8:30pm EST.

The series, initially conceived as a spinoff of The Office, stars Poehler as Leslie Knope, a seemingly dedicated, mid-level employee of Pawnee, Indiana’s Parks and Recreation Department.

Luckily for potential viewers who just can’t wait to see Saturday Night Live vet Poehler and her costars Rashida Jones, Aziz Ansari, Aubrey Plaza, and Chris Pratt in action, NBC has released a new 30-second video clip to introduce us to Leslie on the job. She seems pretty harmless yet slightly kooky to me, which is one of the reasons why The Office works so well, of course.

Check the clip out after the jump — if you look hard enough, you might even spot Jones for a nanosecond in a frame or two.
