Oren Peli’s indie favorite Paranormal Activity has been selling out at midnight screenings for two weeks. After over 1,000,000 moviegoers ‘demanded‘ a nationwide release via Internet, Paramount Pictures obliged. The film will be playing in regular rotation starting Friday, October 16.
Tickets for the movie will be on sale via ParanormalMovie.com by 5pm PST on Tuesday, October 13th.
If you want my two cents, go here for my review of the film.
Curious about the film’s original ending? Want to find out more about the test screenings? Horror Squad’s William Goss has the skinny for you. Beware of spoilers though, dummy.

there is nothing worse than eagerly anticipating a movie and then being more than disappointed with the final outcome of it. This film for me was the equivalent of putting toothpicks under my eyelids and running straight into a wind tunnel. at least the wind tunnel would have been less painful. The acting was just plain dull and laughable, and the sound effects was easily imagined..therefore NOT making this a spine chilling affect on ones psyche. a brilliant idea made 10 years ago has been insulted with this wannabe..and I suggest save your money and use your own imagination to frighten yourself.

I agree film was a let down & totally hyped up by media. If I hadn’t been out with friends mainlining caffeine laced cocktails pre- movie I would have been a sleep 15 minutes in. As it was bed in movie was starting to look inviting & comfortable not scary :-)
The black & white and night vision tones with handheld homemade camera effects may have helped make Blair Witch Project movie interesting for movie viewers (for some nausea too) & it upped the fright factor but it didn’t help this film. I don’t think anything could have helped this film.

yeah. it was a bummer. so many movies getting tons of hype lately that when you go to see it, you can’t help but be let down somewhat. blah!
