Out on DVD November 27th

Some not so exciting movies came out on DVD today.  Well at least I don’t find it all that exciting.  If you have a kid they might be interested in the release of Bratz: The Movie.  This is a live action movie based on a popular line of dolls.  Personally I have to say ick!

Also released is a movie for Saturday Night Live fans: Hot Rod.  This movie was written by SNL writer Akiva Schaffer and also stars a few of its current actors Andy Samberg, Bill Hader and Chris Parnell.  The movie might have some hope of being good because it also stars Ian McShane, Sissy Spacek, Will Arnett,  and Borat’s fiance Isla Fisher.  I love Andy and Isla so I’ll probably end up renting this one.

One movie that I’m actually excited to rent that came out today is The Namesake.  Based on the novel by Jhumpa Lahiri, this movie is about the struggle of an American born man’s struggle with his family’s traditional ways.  Kal Penn of Harold & Kumar‘s adventures might surprise you in this movie with his serious side.  Make sure you have tissues handy though because I hear this one is a real tear jerker.

Here are more movies out today:
