Out of the Wild: The Alaska Experiment "How to Survive" Part I

The team of 9 brave volunteers for Alaskan Experiment learn some things before they start living on their own.

How to navigate the wilderness
Getting lost is no fun, especially in the great outdoors. Do you know the basic tools for staying on track?

How to make a traditional Alaskan backpack?
In Alaska they don’t buy backpacks for outdoor adventures, they make their own. Here’s how you can make your own too.

How to make improvised clothing
What happens if your clothes wear out or get wet in the middle of a hiking excursion? Well, you just make new ones. Any idea on how to combine fashion and nature?

I love this show and I can’t wait until the next
episode every week. The participant’s are very
interesting to watch and I try to imagine if I could do it. Probably not. I don’t have as much endurance. I respect the concept of having experts nearby that help them work through the difficulties. It is well done.

I discuss the show with my co-workers and my family at the dinner table. Can’t seem to find as much interest as I have, however.
In any case, I hope this will be just the first of many seasons.
