Orangutan Island will now be on the Animal Planet on Fridays at 9PM following Escape to Chimp Eden. Check out this Friday’s episode, title Many Happy Returns. Since I’ve never talked about this show before, here’s the dish. Orangutan Island is another popular documentary series on Animal Planet that fuses the traditional documentary filming with dramatic narration as did Meerkat Manor. The show focuses on a group of orphaned orangutans at the Nyaru Menteng Orangutan Rescue and Rehabilitation Center that are raised to go against their normal nature to form a society and live together in a cooperative society so they can be left to live wild on their protected island.
