Brilliant Tina Fey’s 30 Rock continues to pick up steam when it comes to the guest-star casting department.
Now the news has emerged that not only will the sitcom welcome Friends veteran Jennifer Aniston, former Will & Grace diva Megan Mullally, and returning player Will Arnett (up for an Emmy this Sunday for his role as Devin) during the upcoming third season, but also the Queen of Daytime Talk herself.
Yes, that means the one and only Oprah Winfrey. Nice score, not because I love (or hate) Winfrey, but because she’s a true entertainment mogul who gets to make or break these kind of appearances instead of pursuing them or waiting by the phone.
According to NBC, Winfrey, who filmed her segments in New York last Saturday, will appear on the November 6 episode of 30 Rock, which launches its third season a week before, on Thursday, October 30, at 9:30pm EST. Tina says, “Oprah is very funny in the episode and we are beyond grateful to have her. Also, I would like to announce that we are officially best friends.” Whatever Tina tells me, I believe, so good for her.
If you’re a Rock fan, don’t forget to also tune in to Sunday’s 60th Primetime Emmy Awards on ABC at 8pm EST to see if the show wins one or more of the seventeen awards it’s been nominated for. Surely, it will grab at least one or two.
