Season 1, episode 6
“Tiny Bubbles”
Air date: July 13, 2009

Nurse Jackie continues to balance dramatic material with pitch-perfect comedy on tonight’s episode, which uncovers the layers in some of our main characters. Here’s what’s coming up:
- Dr. Cooper‘s two mothers come to All Saints when one has gall bladder issues. The mommies, played by the excellent Blythe Danner and Swoozie Kurtz, reveal background about Coop’s neurological tick.
- Maureen, A former nurse and old friend of Jackie’s comes to the hospital as a patient and drives Mrs. Akalitus up a wall. Later, though, the woman asks Jackie to help put an end to her suffering from terminal lung cancer.
- Zoey picks up on Jackie‘s ethical dilemma and decides that she must be there to support her mentor. She asks Dr. O’Hara for advice, with hilarious results.
