Oh man, this is now getting serious. While just one of the former Spice Girls was talking about a new reunion it seemed nothing more than wishful thinking. Now, two of them have mentioned getting back together to do something, and Geri Halliwell spoke openly about it on a TV show rather than Twitter as Mel B did. Damn, you just know this is going to happen.

At the end of last week, four of the five Spice Girls – Victoria being the one missing – met for dinner. The next day, Mel B aka Scary Spice tweeted about the possibility of a new reunion and stadium tour.
Now, Geri Halliwell aka Ginger Spice (or more accurately Old Spice these days) has spoken about the possibility of a new reunion on This Morning, a British daytime television show.
According to Digital Spy (because I didn’t actually watch it, not being a student or an old person), she said:
“Fundamentally we are friends first and foremost. We started out that way, that very strong friendship, and whatever happens afterwards is a bonus.”
“We always talk about creative plans and possibilities, definitely. And yes, right now, we are gathering information and thinking about possibilities. But when you’re evolving a plan you don’t share it to the world until it’s concrete.”
There have, of course, been times when the girls haven’t been “friends first and foremost.” Like when Geri left the group, or when the first reunion went pear-shaped amid rumors of in-fighting and tension between all the girls.
The thing is, I was keen to see the first reunion happen but that ended so badly, with the Spice Girls cutting their world tour short and splitting again as soon as they’d been paid that I’m totally against it happening again. But it clearly is going to happen.
