Nick Santora chatted again on PBreakFans about Kellerman. He keeps dancing around the issue. I’m not sure what that means yet!
Nick said that his, “acting skills (and those of the other writers) make it clear that we should stick to the keyboard punching. a lot of people have asked about kellerman – all I can say is “I can’t say anything.” I did explain once before that contractually these things are difficult. That’s all I can say, however.“

JJ and Brandon have it right. Once a character is killed off they shouldn’t bring them back for a guest spot.
As for Kellerman, the actor is tied to ABC now. Basically this means that as long as he is under contract to ABC he can not appear on another network’s show. They own his services now, this is how contracts work. Occasionally a network will negotiate this, but it is very uncommon. They were able to negotiate with Patrica Wettig when she left to do “Brothers & Sisters” but if you remember they could only get her back for one episode and from what I heard that was extremely hard for them to do. It was also somewhat of a different situation. Typically networks don’t like to let their actors appear on the competition’s shows. This would be like the president of Ford driving a Chevy.
Kellerman’s ending was written the way it was because there was a lot of speculation about whether or not “Private Practice” would last. When it became a hit and was renewed that pretty much ruled out any chance of him returning. Nick Santora can not reveal any information about this because it’s in his contract. He could easily lose his job if he revealed things like that. It’s not up to him to make the decision anyway.
Ok, everyone understand now, good.
FFS..!! His own brother’s an executive producer on this show, FCOL!!!
Just let Cooper get killed, and then you can bring K-Man back .. Easy as that…
Ok, I want K back.
He was good. Him, and Mahone – the best actors that change. K went good, Mahone went bad, then good..
The “death” was left open as Brandon said.
The only problem they have is that Paul is tied down to another show. He has a contract to ve recorded for XX episodes, however long that takes. During that time, he is not allowed to record for other TV shows.
Its a stupid clause in the contract to make sure your actor doesnt get confused on lines, sets, etc etc. Just tries to keep them focused on one show, and get the best out of them.
I would love to see K back, and IF Prison Break manages for a 5th season – BRING HIM BACK.
If I can see westmoreland and Kellerman back on set, I will be happy. Hehe.
Contractual issues – meaning he wants more money? Or that he’s under contract with a different show?
I understand some contract issues can become a sticky situation, but can’t they buy him out of his existing contract, and pay him more to come back to PB (if thats what the issue is)?
drama schmama, The scene where he ‘died’ was filmed the way it was to leave it open in case Adelstein wanted to come back. That way if he did come back it won’t be gay like when they showed Sara’s head in a box.. then they’d be like.. “yeah, no, she didn’t die.. uhh.. yeah, she escaped and they didn’t know if Michael would still break Whistler out, so we lied” (yeah right, the company isn’t stupid, maybe they are, but Michael still broke Whistler out knowing that Sara was ‘dead’. Gay..
Two things to that scene to either set up his return or confirm his death.
Firstly: [IF HE CAME BACK] We all know K-Man had guys he knew in ‘Prisoner Transport’ so he could easily have made it so the guys who ‘shot him’ were actually breaking him out.
Secondly: [IF KMAN ACTUALLY DIED] It also could be the real thing, Kellerman and the guards in the back of the van were shot and killed.. that’s it..
The writers left it open, if Adelstein does not return, then he died. If Adelstein DOES return (I’m sure you spoiler freaks would’ve heard about it somehow) then he had those guys break him out of the Prisoner Transport Van..
Do NOT bring back Paul Kellerman. The way his storyline ended worked out fine, why bother risk damaging the show/character by bringing him back?
Just leave it how it is. This show is turning more and more into a Fantasy than an actual Drama.
yeah bring back Paul :)
when i see the promos for episodes 11, how cool it will be if paul was with them ?
you get my drift, people? please don’t flame me or start lashing out..
i know 1 thing for sure.. after this Season is all said and done, it may be known as “the Season in which deceased characters came back” .. take a look at my example, if you will …
1 – Sarah / SWC
2 – Muse Watson (now he’ll most likely come back in flash backs only, like the writers / producers do with SAW, but that doesn’t matter .. )
3 – Paul Adelstein?? (well, this is the only example of “Remains To Be Seen ..)
He’s not dodging the issue because he’s being cagey and sneaky. He’s dodging the issue because he doesn’t want to burn any bridges by saying concretely that Adelstein will or will not be coming back.
Settle down, kids.
once they’ll be forced, to …. (U KNOW…!!)
they keep dropping hints .. unbe-*beep*-lievable .. i wonder how much longer they can keep this up .. cauz once they’ll be forced, they’ll run out of options .. you know what i mean? you get my point?
see, he wants to bring K back!
If he wasnt tied in a contract, he would be back.
Listen.
F*ck the contract.
Bring him in for 12 hours. (1 day)
Either kill him, or let him live.
Simple.
