Gather ’round, folks. It’s time for the semi-monthly news roundup, brought to you by Showtimefan.
Here’s the buzz from headquarters:
• ET reports in breathless detail Marlee Matlin‘s preparations for Dancing with the Stars. She’s doing the zone diet to tone up for the skimpy costumes she’ll wear on DWTS, which she says reveals more skin than she does on The L Word. Her dance partner is a new cast member, Fabian Sanchez. Since she’s deaf, Matlin says, “I have to depend on Fabian to be my music. It all comes from him. I draw it from him and then I can dance.”
• Variety notes that Chic Eglee will leave The Shield to Daniel Cerone’s place as an executive producer on Dexter. Elgee’s other credits include Dark Angel, Murder One and NYPD Blue.
• Ebony has a profile of Rose Rollins, who the magazine describes as “the newest cast member on cable’s steamiest show.” Elizabeth Keener might object. Come to think of it, so might Clementine Ford. Anyway, here are the details from the interview you’ll want to know: Rollins voted for Obama in the primary; her first TV role was on The West Wing; and, aside from her on-screen hookups with Leisha Haley, she’s only slept with one person.
