Some of the best news I’ve heard recently is the release date for the NBC crime dramedy Life, which just barely squeaked through to earn a second season following all of the turmoil created by the writers strike. Universal Studios Home Entertainment has announced the eleven-episode Season One DVD set will arrive in stores on September 2nd, a convenient month before the sophomore run is set to kick off on Friday, October 3rd.
If you didn’t watch Life during its first season, you really missed out on a great, fun TV series. It’s kind of in the style of the USA Network crime dramedies, mixed with a little quirky House since the show does star English actor Damian Lewis as charismatic lead character Charlie Crews.
Fortunately for the many, many people who never had the chance to discover the series, the upcoming DVD set is priced at an affordable $29.98, with discounts already available for pre-orders. If ever there was a DVD set worth spending money on, this one, one of my favorites from the Fall 2007 season, is it.
