New Jersey Cop Claims ‘Dark Blue’ Is a Steal

Literally.

The New York Daily News is reporting an interesting accusation from one Wayne “Big Chuck” Bradshaw, a Middletown, New Jersey-based undercover narcotics cop who used to be a biker in a motorcycle gang called the Pagans.

Dark Blue

According to a recent gossip article, Bradshaw told the newspaper that Dark Blue executive producer Jerry Bruckheimer (CSI, Cold Case) stole the idea for the gritty TNT cop drama from his own life.

The situation all allegedly began two years ago, when Bradshaw says he journeyed to California to share his story with interested Hollywood types, including one of Bruckheimer’s production coordinators.

Although the three-hour conversation bore no fruit or series-development offer, Bradshaw states he turned on his television years later to find that TNT’s newest original show is all about “undercover cops with dark pasts,” just like he’s an undercover cop with a dark past.

Moreover, series star Omari Hardwick (pictured above at far right) portrays a cop character who is also a bodybuilder, just like Bradshaw. And, Bradshaw claims, Hardwick’s character Ty Curtis is even called “Ty Bradshaw” on Bruckheimer’s website. Bradshaw accuses the Dark Blue camp of changing the surname to Curtis on the show’s credits “to cover their tracks.”

Yowza! I guess it’s fortunate for Bruckheimer that all Bradshaw says he wants is “to be included,” not draw “blood.” If he wanted the latter, it’s a good bet he knows exactly how to do it.

Dark Blue finished airing its ten-episode first season in September 2009 and hasn’t been renewed for a second season yet. The TNT Report will have the news as soon as it’s announced.
